Magnetic Gap of Fe-Doped BiSbTe<sub>2</sub>Se Bulk Single Crystals Detected by Tunneling Spectroscopy and Gate-Controlled Transports

Topological insulators with broken time-reversal symmetry and the Fermi level within magnetic gap at Dirac cone provides exotic topological magneto-electronic phenomena. Here, we introduce an improved magnetically doped insulator, Fe-doped BiSbTe2Se (Fe-BSTS) bulk single crystal, ideal level. Scanning tunneling microscopy spectroscopy (STM/STS) measurements revealed that surface state possesses a point just below by 12 meV. The normalized dI/dV spectra suggest opening Δmag ∼55 meV, resulting in opened gap. Ionic-liquid gated-transport also support presence of chemical potential can be fully tuned ionic-liquid gating, thus BSTS platform to investigate quantum
